Nick and Chuck tested for their new belts. Nick is now a blue belt and Chuck is a red belt. We went out to dinner afterwards to celebrate their new belts. We went with fellow testers along with his instructors. It was a nice celebration dinner.

New Belts
Nick received his purple belt with tiger patch and Chuck received his red belt.
Happy Anniversary!
Today we celebrate our 11th anniversary!
More visitors!
Aunt Kim, Uncle Daryl, Tori, and Spencer stopped by for a brief visit on their way to Ohio by way of Tennessee. Aunt Kim wants to see how many states they can go through on 1 trip. hehehe! It was a nice short visit and hopefully they can come back through for another visit on their way home.
Infection time!
Nick developed an infection from the surgery. He is now on antibiotics and is resting comfortably. He was running a 100.3 – 103.3 fever for several days but it seems to be getting better now. He is watching his “sick” movies so he can stay inactive. That doesn’t last long so he has also been painting his bird house he got from Bass Pro Shop.
Visit from Nonny and Papoo
Nonny and Papoo made a surprise visit on their way home from visiting Nonny’s sister. It was a good visit. Nick showed Nonny and Papoo he can put puzzles together without looking at the box
Nick’s surgery
Nick has his tonsils and adenoids removed. He did very well. ENT said his adenoids were almost blocking his nasal airways and his tonsils were swollen to the point they were almost touching in the back of his throat. ugh! No wonder he wasn’t able to get enough air to sleep. He had to stay int he recovery room for some time after the surgery and sleep. They monitored him while he was sleeping to make sure he was good to go home which was about 2 hours. Meanwhile, there were kids coming out of surgery and going home and he was sleeping. The kids were whinning, crying, or screaming while he was sleeping. Occasionally, he would wake up and ask us to tell them to stop so he can sleep. It was cute but sad cause the others were in pain and all Nick wanted to do was sleep. The nurse said this was unusual that a child would just laydown and be calm after surgery. We told her that was normal for Nick. He didn’t cry, scream, or whine about anything other than complain about the others making too much noise while he was sleeping.
Grandma, Grandpa and OOPs!
Grandma and Grandpa came for a short visit. We took them Bowling and they got to see the Taekwondo school Nick and Chuck attend. We ate some good rotisserie chicken. Nick dropped a plate on his big toe. He has a nice black toenail now. When the plate shattered, a piece of the plate came up and cut his knee a little.
Nick’s OT
We had a sensory test done partly to determine if that is what was causing Nick to act out only at certain times. Well, we found out he is very smart and too smart for his own good. When he was tested at Our Children’s House, they found he has a great memory and is smarter than most kids his age. When he gets bored, he starts acting up. We are trying a few things with the help of the Occupational Therapist to teach him how to properly deal with boredom. He has been a few times and Ms Leigh thinks he is super smart and cute as a button. We think so too but we are a little bias.
Nick’s first day at new school
Nick loves his new school and has adjusted well. Of course, it is the first week and everything is new. He has 4 teachers so the speak. There are 2 teachers for the 4 and 5 year olds in the morning when they combine. Then the split once there are more kids and another teacher comes in. Then in the afternoons they combine again and the 2 morning teachers leave. The 2 classes play together outside too. He is now starting to say he is 5 years old because there are 5 year olds in his class. Sill goose!
