Nick’s 5th Birthday

Happy Birthday our little Pumpkin! Nick had his party at Pump it Up. All his friends came to celebrate it. His party was in the afternoon so his cousins could make it in time for his party and still play in their soccer games.

Nick’s 2nd field trip – Pumpkin Patch

Nick’s 2nd field trip was to Pumpkin Patch. It was also his birthday weekend so he was even more excited about going. After the field trip, Debi met them at the school to setup for his school party. He decided at the last minute he wanted a party with his classmate so Debi got something together for them. Ms Raines, Taekwondo instructor, came to his class and did a Stranger Danger class. The kids loved it.

Nick’s first field trip – DWA

Nick’s first field trip was to Dallas World Aquarium. There are 10 kids in the class and all but 1 was able to go on it. Nick loved it and was excited that he got to ride on the school bus. We think he was more excited about riding the school bus than the actual trip.

Eye Surgery – Part II

Chuck has his other eye done today. He is still recovering well. This one took a little longer because the nurses and doctors took a lunch break in the middle of everything. What is up with that?

AWANA again

Nick is doing AWANA again this year, but Debi isn’t teach his class. She had opted not to teach this year as she took on a new volunteer role in the Adoption Ministry at the church. She uses the AWANA time to meet with her co-leader. Nick is now a Senior AWANA Cubbie and it living it up that he is in the big kid group.

Running the bases

Nick went to his cousin’s birthday party at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock. He had a blast because between 1 of the innings he got to run the field. Tori got to have her name on the big screen. It was also a surprise to Debi’s sister, Kim, because it was her 40th birthday and her name was up there too!

First Day of School!

Nick started his first day of school. He is in Kindergarten and Ms. Davidson is his teacher. For 2 months, Nick was so excited about being in Kindergarten and how he was a big boy now. When we got to the classroom door, all that changed. He became shy (YES, SHY!) and wouldn’t let go of mommy’s leg. After some coloring and more friends arrived in class, he finally let go and started to interact with the other kids. He doesn’t get a nap anymore so we will see this afternoon how all that is going to work out. He is so use to having a nap or he starts to get cranky but we will see if that will change once he sees all his friends aren’t taking a nap anymore either.
