Last Soccer Game of Season!

Nick had his last soccer game of the season. He is so excited about playing soccer. He loves being the goalie even though at his age their isn’t one. He is looking forward to Soccer Camp the first week of June. He scored 2 goals for his team, 1 accidental goal for the other team (he tried to kick it away from their goal but ended up kicking it into the goal), and blocked too many goals to count. He loved playing with his teammates and hopes to see them next season.

6 month Post Placement Visit

We had our 6 month post placement visit today. Our Social Worker, Beverley, was truly amazed at Danni’s development and bonding. It is hard to believe she has been with us 6 months already. It seems like it has been longer! She is doing absolutely great. She is laughing, smiling, and signing. Since she isn’t speaking, Debi had been teaching her sign language. She knows about 10 signs already and uses them appropriately.

Happy Easter!

We hope everyone is having a great day!

Happy Easter!!!

We think there was another recording setting attendance! We didn’t do a final count but there seemed to be more people than last year (over 112).

Baby Shower from Debi’s CoWorkers

Debi’s CoWorkers gave her a Welcome Home Baby Shower for Danni. We want to thank all of her coworkers for the wonderful gifts. We are so blessed to have should great coworkers. Danni has been spoiled yet again but a great group of people. Thank you all for everything!

Danni’s hearing test

Danni had a hearing test today. We were referred to an ENT to have her hearing tested because she wasn’t speaking. She can hear perfectly fine. Guess she is choosing not to talk right now.

Daycare

Danni is in daycare 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday). She doesn’t like it so far. The first day she cried off and on most of the day. When Debi and Nick dropped her off, she cried as they were leaving. When they went to pick her up, you could hear her outside crying. The windows of her room were opened since it was nice and breezy outside. The second day she didn’t want to have anything to do with the other kids. She sat quietly by herself except for the crying at the drop off and pick up times. Her 3rd day she was upset most of the morning and was crying when Debi and Nick picked her up. Poor Danni is having attachment issues! Hopefully she will start to get in the swing of things and enjoy her time away from Debi.

2nd Degree Black Belt

Chuck earned his 2nd degree black belt. He broke all his boards on the first attempt. During sparring, he kicked his opponent in the head because they weren’t blocking well. Unfortunately, Debi, Nick, & Danni had to leave early for Nick’s soccer game so they didn’t get to see Chuck’s belt get tied on by Ms Raines, our head instructor, and Master Joy Walker, head instructor at the Garland school.

1st Soccer Game

Nick did awesome in his 1st soccer game ever! He loved it. He didn’t stay in the pack of kids like the others did. He wanted to be goalie the whole game. When he came out for rest, I had to explain to him at his level there isn’t a goalie. He kept near the goal most of his playing time and kept the other team from score a few times. He did have some great kicks too. He assisted in helping his teammate score a goal. He was super excited the whole game and even after it.
