Meet the Teacher

We had Meet the Teacher Night at Nick’s new school. She is the teacher we visited her class at the end of last school year. Her class was laying all over the floor but the minute she said it was time to clean up and move to whatever they were doing next, the class listened. A good friend told us it is called controlled chaos. She seems really nice and in control. Hopefully we will have a better year. Nick still isn’t convinced he will like it there but he said “I will give it a try.”

Infection came back

Danni’s small knot infection came back again. Debi took her to the doctor and she believes it could be an infection cyst due to an ear pit. She sent her home with some antibiotics to take for 10 days and some cream to put on it. She recommended we go to an ENT for a further evaluation since it was next to her ear. Hopefully it will get better soon and we can get in to see the ENT soon as well.

4th of July weekend

We spent the 4th of July weekend at Debi’s sister’s place on Lake Limestone. The water was nice. Danni had her first taste of watermelon and loved it. Nick loves the water and never wanted to get out. He would rather stay in the water and play than eat or sleep. Danni on the other hand would prefer only her feet get wet and everything else stay dry.

ATA Worlds Tournament

Chuck left to attend a certification class. He got certified in Ssahng Nat (Kama). Debi, Nick, and Danni rode up to Little Rock, AR with Ms. Raines, the head instructor at the Taekwondo school. Nick competed as a Tiny Tiger (6 and under). He received best in form and weapons. He received 2 trophies. We weren’t expecting trophies but just medals. It was a nice surprise to get a trophy instead of a medal. Nick loved getting 2 of them. Debi’s mom flew into Little Rock to see Nick compete and to help watch Danni and Nick when Debi and Chuck attended a few classes.

VBS with the big kids!

Nick attended VBS for the first time with the big kids. He loves it. He enjoyed being with the big kids. He also got to see his some of his Taekwondo and school friends there. He liked Debi being his leader too!

Guess who is a Black Belt

Nick is a black belt. We weren’t quite sure he was going to make it. He had been acting up and messing up on his stuff all week. Ms Raines, head instructor, asked us to let him test and if he does great fine if not he will have that as a mid-term. We told Nick he was doing a practice test even though we knew he was testing hoping that if we relieve the nervousness he is experiencing. Our thought with it was he was settle down and do it correctly. Well, he amazed us. He did everything perfectly! He passed with flying colors! He is now a black belt and excited he reached his goal!

Soccer Camp

Nick is attending soccer camp this week. He is loving it. He met a new friend that he will get to have playdates with in the area. He won’t be able to go to school with him but he will get to play with him on a regular basis.

Memorial Day Weekend

We went to our property in Crockett to check on everything. After we took care of business (i.e. A/C hooked up at ranch), we drove to Debi’s sister’s lake house on Lake Limestone. The kids got to swim in the lake. Danni wasn’t too thrilled about it at first. Nick on the other hand was diving in like an old pro.

Kindergarten Graduation

Nick graduated from Kindergarten tonight. He sang a few songs with his classmates. He got to walk across the stage to get his diploma from Mrs. Ashlock. Then it was cake and punch time. He will miss his friends.

Last day of School

Nick’s had his last day of school today. While he was sad, he won’t be able to see his friends during the summer. He is excited about 1st grade next year.
