Nick was holding onto Debi’s leg in the kitchen and let go. He stood by himself for about 10 seconds before he realized he wasn’t holding onto anything and nothing was holding onto him.

Nick’s ENT visit
Nick had to go to the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctor to have his hearing checked. He still have fluid on his ears even though they are not infected. They did a hearing test and it wasn’t so good. The dr said he thinks it is because of all the fluid in his ears but won’t know for sure until they put tubes in his ears and he is retested. He is scheduled to have tubes put into his ears on Thursday, September 8th. He weighed 18lbs at this visit.
Nick’s 1st daycare biting
Nick got bit by his friend when they were playing. He cried all of a few seconds they said. We think it hurt his feeling more than anything.
Tour De Pants 2005
Today, I did my 2nd Tour de Pants bike ride. Once again we did the 42 mile route. We had a much better ride than last year, besting our finish time by over 30 minutes. The hills were challenging but with my new bike and better conditioning, I was able to do them without breaking the bank. We were flying accross the flats as well. Who knows, maybe next year we will do the 75-mile route. I am gearing up for the MS 150 and this was a great ride to get me going. Now the training must continue.
Update: I have added some pictures of the roads that we were on. Last year we didn’t get to scout the race beforehand, so we decided to go out on Friday and get some shots of the hills. Check them out here
Nick wants to play with the dogs
Nick wants to play with the dogs so bad it is funny. He will crawl to them and they run from him. He starts getting mad because they keep moving. But as usually he forgets about them when he sees his toys. Paper is his favorite toy at the moment.

Nick’s 2nd daycare accident
Nick had held onto a shelf of toys in his classroom. He let go and hit his head. He didn’t cry or anything. He just went on about his business like nothing happened.
Nick’s Parent Dedication
Nick had a parent dedication. The church doesn’t perform baptisms on infants or small children. Parent Dedication is similiar to Blessings. It is when the parents agree to raise the child in a Christ centered home. He did very well through the ceremony even though he did try to take the paper away from the Children’s Minister as he was reading Nick’s scripture.
Nick’s first daycare accident
Nick had his first daycare accident. He stood up and let go and hit his head. They said he did do anything but continue on about his business. This is the first of many we are sure.
Nick’s eye appointment
Nick had his first eye appointment. Through a new program that started in June of this year. It is free for infants 6 to 12 months old (www.infantsee.org). It is for early detection of any eye problems. The appointment only lasted 20 to 30 minutes including the time to fill out the paper work. The doctor said Nick’s eyes look good but since there is a history of eye problems that he should be checked every year.
