As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country ~ Proverbs 25:25

Headed to San Antonio

I am leaving first thing in the morning to go to San Antonio for the MS150. I am really looking forward to the ride. I am confidant that I will do just fine. I have had 3 or 4 good rides in the last few weeks. I want to thank each and every one of you who sponsored me by making a donation to the MS Society. Without folks like you, this event would not be as huge as it is. Last year, the ride raised over $1 million. I personally know of people with this disease and raising money for research is one of the best things we can do for them. Thanks again for your support.

I will be sure and post a message when I get back and let you know how things went.

Nick’s 2nd word

Nick finally said Dada and melmo (Elmo). He has Elmo on his diapers and Mommy always sings “Elmo Elmo Elmo” when she changes his diaper. So he has started to repeat her.

Nick’s tubes

Nick got his tubes this morning. The doctor and nurses warned us he would be cranky, nothing would console him, and he would be back to normal in the afternoon. The anesthesiologist said since Nick was so friendly and he felt Nick wouldn’t have withdrawls when he left us Nick didn’t need goof juice. Goof juice is something to keep them calm as they are being transported from outpatient area to surgery. The doctor said Nick wouldn’t like the ear drops cause it would sting but to be sure we put it in his ears. Well, he was cranky for all of 10 minutes. After he got some juice, he was fine. He slept all the way home and then he was crawling around playing. He got drops in his ear like a pro and went to sleep. He seems to be doing fine but only time will tell. He goes back in 3 weeks to get his hearing checked again.

Nick’s new trick

Nick has learned to get out of his bouncer/rocker. He was so proud of himself for doing it that he claps when he gets on the floor. Daycare says he climbs out of the bouncer, floor swing, and tries to get out of exersaucers. He is a dare devil in the makings.

Nick’s daycare teacher

One of Nick’s daycare teachers last day was today. She told us she was soo sad to go but she got a full time job with benefits. She said she would visit often and she would miss Nick’s smiles. She said everyone comes into the infant room asking for the smiley baby. We think we are going to use her as a babysitter if we ever need one. She doesn’t live far from us and her daughter is 3 months younger than Nick. Her cousin lives less than a block away from us too.

Nick visiting his cousins

Nick got to visit with his cousins this weekend (Tori, Spencer, Samantha, and Jacob). He also got to meet his far away cousin who was visiting from California (Christopher). He enjoyed spending time with everyone but he really liked MeeMaw, PawPaw, and Uncle Jr’s new house. He especially liked the stairs. He tried to climb them like all the other cousins but didn’t get very far. He liked the kitchen cabinets too since there were no child locks on them.

Happy Birthday MeeMaw

Today is MeeMaw’s birthday and we are heading to go have dinner with her. She got a new house for her birthday. Cousin Tori is getting a new house for her birthday. Nick is wondering if he is getting a new house for his birthday.
