Nick had his 12 month well visit. He is 19lbs 8.5 oz, 29 inches tall, and head circumference is 46cm. He is still in the lower percentiles but the doctor said he will catch up before you know it. He doesn’t like whole milk. He throws whole milk sippy cups across the room after he takes a drink. The doctor recommended we wean him slowly so we are using Next Step formula with whole milk. We hope he will be off formula by Thanksgiving. We think at his rate he could be the Texas Ranger’s next pitcher maybe then they will win games. Oh yeah, when we were at the doctor’s office for his well visit, the doctor mentioned Nick having more teeth coming in. Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, but FOUR! He is getting his top 4 teeth in at the same time.

Nick’s Halloween
Nick had a Halloween carnival at daycare. He dressed up as spiderman. Everyone thought he was a cute spiderman. He got a kick out of the little cap over his head but refused to wear the piece over his eyes. At the daycare, they had a haunted bus which was 2 school buses back to back. Nick laughed the whole time we were in there. Nick also went to Debi’s work for Trick-or-Treat. He got to show off his walking skills to some of her co-workers. Nick helped pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters at the house. We didn’t take him out trick-or-treating but maybe next year when he can say “Trick Or Treat.”
Nick’s 1st Birthday Party with the Friends
Nick had his first birthday party with his friends in Rockwall on Saturday, October 29th, at 2pm. He had a baseball party. Nick made a wish when blowing out his candles. He also wanted the cake tray more than the cake, but once we took away the tray he dug right into the cake.
Happy Birthday Nick
Happy Birthday Nick!!! We hope you had a One-derful birthday. You have grown so much and have been such a wonderful little boy. We hope the next year is just as great. One year ago today, you decided that you were ready to be born. Did you enjoying your cake? From the pictures, It sure looks like it.
Nick’s 1st Birthday Party with the Family
Nick had his 1st Birthday Party with the family on Saturday, October 22nd, at 3pm. The party was at PawPaw, MeeMaw, and Uncle Jr’s new house in Conroe, TX. PawPaw made some good BBQ for the party. Thank you PawPaw for cooking it was GOOD! The party was decorated in Lion King, Mommy’s favorite. The cake was Madagascar. Nick couldn’t wait to dig into his cake even before the candle was lite and everyone sang to him. He was more interested in the cake tray than the cake at first, but once we removed the cake tray he was definitely into the cake.
Nick sick again
Nick has bronchitis again. He is on breathing treatments every 4 hours for the next 5 days then 4 times a day for a couple of weeks. He is a whopping 19lbs. He likes to do headstands. He has climbed in and out of his walker several times all caught on video. For the most part he falls asleep on his own. He is in his crib awake with music and one of us in the room with him for a short period (less than 10 minutes usually). He will start visiting the Tot room at daycare next week and will move up on his 1st birthday.
MS150 Report
I made it. The ride was pretty tough, but I did well. The wind was blowing from the south the entire time, resulting in a little slower pace than usual. Since I had never gone 90 miles in 1 day before, I wasn’t sure exactly how I would do, but I survived. The second day was a little better, at only 60 miles. Riding into Chorpus Christi, over the bay, was a pretty scene. Afterwards, I took a dip into the ocean. Well that is about all I can think of. I will definitely take a week or so off from riding to rest my butt, but I am looking forward to another one.
Nick learned a few things
Over the last few weeks, we have been trying to teach Nick to give high-5s. He has finally decided to do them all the time now. When daddy took Nick outside, he came back in sticking his tongue out. He also has been climbing out of his rocker/bouncer, his walker, and his high chair. At daycare, he climbs out of the high chairs which is chairs mounted in a table.
Nick’s a little piggy
Nick has started eating some table food. At daycare one day, he ate half of a ham & cheese sandwich, chips, fruit, and his sippy cup. He is getting to be a hardy eater. Look out cousins – Samantha, Tori, Jacob, and Spencer – Nick will be taking your food away soon. His favorite seems to be chicken. Oh yeah, of course he just loves rice. What Gee doesn’t right? LOL He also eats his shells and cheese 1 at a time picking them up with his index finger. He is also feeding himself as you can see in the picture. He is eating spinach or suppose to be eating it.
Nick walked a little
Nick was in the pack-n-play when mommy was packing an over night bag to go to Spencer’s 2nd birthday party. When Nick decided to walk across the short side of it without hold ing on. He has taken a few steps here and there but falls. So any day now he could be walking really good. Watch out here comes Nick.
