First and Second Sick visit

Poor Danni has had swollen eyes for over a week now. Last week, her left eye was swollen. Nurse Practitioner said it was bacteria infections and prescribed some antibiotics and if it wasn’t better or gets worse in 4 days to go back in. Well, not only her left eye is swollen but so is her right. Poor thing! We stopped the antibiotics yesterday because she only drank 10 oz of formula and nothing else. Each day since we started the antibiotics she was eating less. She also had some really bad diaper issues. Today, she went in to see the doctor and she feels she has developed some allergies and it was a good decision to stop the antibiotics since they were doing more harm than good. She wants Danni to take allergy medication for a few days to see if that helps. She recommended waiting on allergy testing since she has only been in the USA 1 1/2 months. Typically, you have to be in the area for at least 3 months to develop an allergy, so we will wait until the end of March to have her tested. So far it looks like she will have allergies like Nick.

More teeth coming in

Danni has 2 more teeth coming in. She is getting them in on the bottom next to her other 2 teeth. She is drooling like crazy. She isn’t fussying too much but is chewing on everything. She loves to eat too!

Danni’s First Step

Danni took her first step! One Sunday night while Debi was at AWANA, Danni took 2 steps by herself. She is on the road for walking by the end of the month. Chuck didn’t get to see it and Debi wasn’t fast enough at the camera to get it on tape, but it was witnessed by Craig. Poor Jamie and Kristin were sitting right there but missed seeing it.

Danni’s Birthday Party

We celebrated Danni’s birthday party this weekend. We figured trying to plan one the week after returning from China and right before Christmas and New Years wasn’t feasible. We had the party at Debi’s parents/brother’s house in Conroe. All the cousins were there and excited to see Danni again. Danni had her first Princess cake and didn’t know what to think about it. She started to stand on her own for 5 seconds are less. We think she will be walking by the end of the month. Thank you MeeMaw, PawPaw, Uncle Jr, Aunt Kim, Uncle Daryl, Aunt Genia, Uncle Rene, Aunt Wing, Uncle Henry, Aunt May, Uncle John, Aunt Tina, Aunt Julie, Aunt JuAnna, Aunt Wendy, Aunt Kristy, & Uncle Vernon. Let’s not forget the cousins: Samantha, Tori, Amanda, Jacob, Spencer, and Mia.

One month home

We have been home for 1 month now. Danni is adjusting well. She is crawling a lot and starting to cruise the furniture. Nick is experiencing some jealousy and roughness. He still loves to do everything for her and when she cries he is always there to kiss her and hug her. We are waiting on the test results from some test we had done before Christmas.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!

We rang in the new year at the ranch with Debi’s parents, brother, and uncle. It was windy and chilly during the day. At night, it wasn’t too bad so we were able to pop some fireworks. Danni fell asleep halfway through it.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas !!!

We did a tour of Texas for Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve with Chuck’s parents then Christmas Day with Debi’s Family. Everyone enjoyed meeting Danni.

Nick was quite funny about what he wanted for Christmas. He would tell us that he already told Santa at Bass Pro Shop that he didn’t have to write a letter to Santa nor did he need to tell us because Santa already knew. He is so funny! He finally told “Since Santa only brings me 3 things, I want books, DVDs, and a yellow motorcycle with red flames on the back. You know Santa has to bring that this year since he forgot last year.” From Santa he got a NERF gun with extra bullets, clothes, and books.

Danni didn’t have a wish list this year, but we are sure next year she will be ready to say what she wants. From Santa she got clothes, books, and a My Pal Violet.

Danni’s Appointment with Specialist

Danni had her appointment with the Specialist. She is slightly delayed in speech and gross motor skills which we already knew. The specialist recommended getting an evaluation from ECI which our pediatrician already initiated it. We are just waiting for ECI to call us to setup an appointment. She is starting to pull up on things. She had enough blood drawn to fill 4 vials. She screamed and cried but once all was said and done she quickly stopped and was ready to play. We are waiting to hear back from the specialist on the results. Specialist said it would take about a week to get the results back. She also recommended us taking her to a pediatric eye doctor to be evaluated. A child between the age of 9 months to a year the state pays for the exam to detect issues early, so she recommended we go ahead and get that done as well. We will wait until after the first of the year.
