We are going into the hospital because Debi’s water broke at about 4:30pm. Dr Joseph is going to meet us at the hospital because he is the oncall doctor. Guess Debi was right about Dr Satterfield not delivering our baby and delivering early. At least she doesn’t have to worry about delivering on the side of the road in rush hour traffic. At 7:30pm, we arrived at the hospital. A resident doctor checks Debi and confirms her water broke and she is dialated to a 1 (she has to be a 10 to deliver). It is going to be a long night at this rate. She will be delivering in the next 12 to 24 hours. At 10:30pm, doctor checks again to see if labor is progressing and it is not. Dr Joseph talks to us about our options since we don’t want a medicated birth (i.e. no pitocin, no pain meds, no epidural). We decide on the lesser of the 2 evils and go with pitocin over c-section. At 12 midnight, Debi feels her first contraction. Dr Joseph was called in and we are ready for delivery.

New Site Format
“Today we are rolling out a brand new format to the website. From now on, we will be using a blog format to keep you updated on the latest happenings. Previously we were using a canned site building tool which did not offer much flexability. The new tool utilizes PHP so we can easily add cool stuff later on. The Photo gallery has been wrapped by the new format as well. No more of those ugly green colors there.
The blog has a built in archive. This way you can go back and look at all our previous posts. Only the last 7 posts are viewable on the front screen, so click on the months, or navigate with the calendar to see the previous posts.
By the way, the blog is powered by WordPress. Its a pretty cool tool. Real easy to set up and use. Several of my friends also use wordpress for their sites and have heard lots of good things.”
New Site Feature
“A new feature to the site is the Quote of the Day. Each day, a new quote is randomly chosen (quotes provided by Brainyquote). Enjoy!

Rene, Daryl, and Chuck were planning on going for a bike ride, but the weather put a stop to that. Oh well, maybe next time. Instead we went and looked at some bikes, Harley-Davidson that is.

Bike Ride
Today, Chuck went for a bike ride with his friends, Michael and Dan. They did 37.5 miles around the White Rock Lake area. Michael had a spoke break on him early in the ride so they made a pit stop at the bike store to get it fixed. They rode pretty hard the last 7 miles or so, so Chuck is pretty tired. A couple of weeks ago, they participated in a bike ride sponsored by the local sports radio station 1310 The Ticket. They did the 41 mile ride and it was toughest ride Chuck had ever been on. There were three really big climbs. The area is right on the North end of the Texas Hill Country, so they had climbs that were at least a mile long and changes in elevation of over 100 feet. It sounds small, but it was a killer ride. Check out some pictures of the ride here.
