Nick’s first day of daycare

Nick was a hit at daycare. The caregivers think he is a real cutie pie, and we can’t disagree but we are bias. Nick ate all his food, took lots of naps, and cried a little. The afternoon lady said he enjoys his Lion King mobile, the swing, smiles, and giggles. He was asleep when we picked him up. Nick did very well at daycare more than I can say about mommy. He is starting to hold his head up on his own more often and he weighs about 10 lbs (double his birth weight). He is growing like a weed.

Christmas 2004

Nick & his new wagon We made the Texas tour for Nick’s first Christmas. We started out in Fate, Texas opening our Christmas presents on Wednesday night. Our next stop was Carthage, Texas to spend Thursday and Friday with the Williamsons. Our 2nd stop was Houston, Texas to spend Saturday and Sunday with the Gees. On our way to see Great Grandpa and Great Grandma, we stopped in on Debi’s college roommate, Leah, in Buffalo, Texas. Leah had her little boy on November 9th, 2004 and his name is Gavin. He is a cutie too. We spent Monday and Tuesday morning in Frankston, Texas with the Great Grandparents. We finally returned home on Tuesday afternoon. We had a blast visiting with all the relatives and friends. Oh yeah let’s not forget we showed off Nick to everyone in site. Check out some of our pictures.

Merry Christmas

Well, Christmas is almost here. Today was our last day of work for the rest of the year. We are looking forward to some rest and relaxation. At least as much as we can get 🙂

Today we had a little bit of snow at our house. There were a couple of different waves that came through, with the afternoon flurry being the heaviest. There was not a lot of volume that actually came down though, so the ground was only slightly covered in snow, and a little sleet mixed in as well.

We are headed off to the Grandparents in the morning. Our first stop will be in Carthage, then on Christmas Day, we will head down to Houston. We are so excited about Nick’s first Christmas. I know that he will probably not know what is going on, or ever remember what happens, but for us, it will be very special. We are so happy to have a little miracle in our family.

See you soon,

Merry Christmas !!!

8 Weeks

Nick & SantaNick is now 8 weeks and weighs about 9 lbs. He has graduated from newborn diapers into Size 1. He has also graduated from premie clothes into newborn. He took his picture with Santa. Nick and Santa were both sleeping in the picture check it out. Nick took his 2 month pictures this weekend so check back in a few days and you can see them too. MeeMaw was visiting last week so check out those pictures too.

7 Weeks

Nick is now 7 weeks old and he is growing like a weed. It’s been a week since his last doctor visit, so he is probably up to about 8 pounds now. I can feel the difference in his weight now. We have a scale but it only does .5 lb. increments, so its hard to say exactly how much he weighs. When we get on the scale with him it could be rounding up, but without him it might round down.

Yesterday, Nick met a new friend, Alyssa. She is Kurt and Yvette’s 9-month old daughter. Kurt is Chuck’s good friend from way back. We went over to Fort Worth to help our other friends Bobby and Patricia move into their new home. Nick got to meet everyone and the babies were the center of attention as usual. We always get comments from strangers about how cute he is when we go out in public.

Debi has gone back to work. She is working from home for the time being. She will go back to the office full time at the first of next year. Nick will go to daycare at the same time too. We are not sure how we will handle it. I guess Debi will just have to learn to deal with not being with him all day long.

We have re-organized Nick’s photo albums by month. This will make it easier to see how much he has grown by comparing pictures from different months.

5 weeks and 5 days old

Nick went to the doctor today to check his jaundice. He got his 2 month shot early, so he doesn’t have to go back in 2 weeks. He got 2 shots in 1 leg and 1 shot in the other. One of the shots is a new one that helps decrease the chances of ear infections. We will have to wait and see if that is true. He took them like a man. He only cried for about 2 minutes then fell asleep. He now weighs 7 lbs 8 oz and is 20 1/4 inches long. He is still below everyone else of his age, but that is only because he was a premie. He wasn’t jaundice looking so there was no blood drawn or tests done.

Nick is 1 Month old!

Nick recently had his 1-Month Birthday on November 24th, right before Thanksgiving. Since Nick’s due date was November 24th, we thought we were going to have to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital. We were glad that we got to spend it at home with our friends and family.

We have added a new photo album with more pictures of Nick. These are some recent ones as well as some that are a couple of weeks old.

New Links

I just added a couple of new links, my cousins Steve and Ronnette in Hawaii, and a bass fishing page. The bass fishing page contains several links all related to bass fishing. I will try to add some more fishing links soon. If you know of any good ones, send them to me. A cookbook page is coming soon. I am just about finished with it. I am going to let Debi be in charge of adding in some recipes. We will be glad to take any suggestions that you have. Once we get a few recipes in there, I will add that link.

3 weeks and 3 days

Nick went to the doctor today and he has jaundice again. He is not on any phototherapy lights but will have to have another check up at 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks. He is now 6 lbs and 2 oz.
