As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country ~ Proverbs 25:25

Nick still sick

Nick was sent home on Thursday for a fever. He went to the pediatrician Friday, because he was looking a little pale and wasn’t acting normal. The doctor mentioned he wasn’t the same kid she saw on Monday so she ran a few tests on him. Everything came back normal. She did mentioned the combination of bronchitis, wheezing, ear infection, has an allergy to something, 2 molars coming in, and a sore throat just threw his body out of wack. He didn’t have a fever all weekend. He seems to be getting back to normal but isn’t there yet. He weighs 21 lbs 8 oz so he lost a little weigh but not much.

Nick another ear infection

Nick has another ear infection. He also has bronchitis, wheezing, and pediatrician says he has an allergy but doesn’t know for what. She wants him to finish his antibiotics and take some allergy meds. She will recheck him in 3 weeks to see if the ear infection is getting better. She thinks it will get better since we are headed into summer but since April of last year he had his first one and eventually had to get tubes. She is hoping he doesn’t have to get the tubes put back in. He weighs 22 lbs which means he lost a little weight since his ENT appointment.

Fingerprinting

We received our fingerprinting notice. We heard you can just walk in and get them without waiting until your appointment date and time. We tried it and we were in and out in 10 minutes. YAY!!!

Nick eats dirt

Nick was outside playing. He was watching daddy pick up stuff in the grass and throw it, so of course he would pull up grass and/or dirt and throw it. At one point he picked up dirt and ate it. Yes, you read correctly. Nick ate dirt. Of course he was spitting everywhere because he didn’t like the taste of dirt.

Nick’s follow up visit with ENT

Nick went to the ENT for his follow up visit and weighs 23 lbs 4 oz. ENT said his ears are looking good and he doesn’t need to go back unless he gets another ear infection. ENT wants us to minimize but preferably eliminate Nick being around smoking and smokers because second-hand smoke can cause him more problems.

Nick’s 15 month well visit

Nick had is well visit Friday. He weighs 21 lbs (10%), 30 1/4 inches (25%) tall, and head circumference is 18 5/8 inches (50%). His right tube fell out so the doctor is concerned about him getting an ear infection and having to get a tube put back in again. She was hoping it would stay in until this summer. The left one is still in there. He can say “mamma”, “dadda”, “thank you”, ” no no”, “bye bye”, “uh oh”, “yeah”, and “more” in English. He can sign “more” and “milk”. He can say 1 Chinese word “chat chat”. The doctor says for his age he should say about 3 to 5 words, so he is doing just fine on verbal skills.
