Nick and new teachers

Nick is on his 3rd new teacher in his Two’s class. Ms Brandy left because she got another job. Ms Crystal started and Nick tested his limits with her. Then she left to go part-time in order to spend more time with her son. Ms Molly started and Nick again tested his limits. Nick was also having a bad time with Ms Molly. His potty training went to almost NOTHING. We had a lot of issues with Ms Molly and within a few weeks she left due to schedule conflicts. Ms Misty is his new teacher and within a few days he was back to potty training like before. His testing limits with Ms Misty was short lived. Nick really likes Ms Misty and Ms Valerie.

Nick ABCs

Nick has started singing his ABCs. He doesn’t quite get all the letters in but you can tell he is trying to say the letters. LMNOP occurs 3 times in Nick’s alphabets and is all 1 letter. T is the end of the alphabet not Z.

Nick got sick and missed Cousin Tori’s Birthday party

Nick was sent home with a fever. The next day he ended up with welps on his legs. We took him to the doctor and he has Hand, Foot, and Mouth. We had to cancel going to Tori’s birthday party because Nick is contagious. He ended up having a difficult weekend because we were forcing ice and popsicles down him to keep him hydrated. He didn’t want to eat or drink because he had ulcers all in his mouth and on his tongue. Poor kid! We did get good news at the doctors office. We are now on month 3 of NO ear infections! ***KNOCK ON WOOD*** He weighs 25 lbs 6 oz.

Nick learning to manipulate

Nick has learned to manipulate at such a young age. He has figured out that when he is in trouble for doing something he isn’t suppose to do that if he says “go potty” he gets out of it. When it is bed time and he doesn’t want to go to bed, he will say “go potty” or “poopoo in diaper” to get out of going to bed. He is still in his crib and the rail isn’t low enough for him to climb out YET so it keeps him contained at bedtime. We will probably at the end of the year move him to a toddler bed but we will see. There is no hurry and he hasn’t learned to climb out yet so we are still safe.

Nick potty training

For the last month now, Nick has started to want to sit on the potty. Not the kiddie potty but the big boy potty. We got him an Elmo kiddie seat to put on the big potty. He just loves it. For about 2 weeks now, Nick has been potty training at daycare. He wants to use the potty and about half the time he will tell you beforehand which isn’t bad. He has had about 4 accidents in the last 2 weeks which is good for just starting out.

Nick doing good

Nick went to the dr today and got the all clear for 2 months in a row for no ear infection and no fluid in his ears. WOOHOO! We are on a roll. ***KNOCK ON WOOD*** His weight hasn’t became steady yet but it is getting there. In March, he was 21 lbs 8 oz. In April, he was 22 lbs 6 oz. In May, he was 23 lbs even. In June, he was 22lbs 6 oz. He got a little sick so he lost some weight but it is back up to 23 lbs 10 oz in July.

Nick’s New Toy Box

I just completed a toy box for Nick. I used aspen lumber that I picked up at Home Depot. I think it turned out pretty good. It was my first try at using a router to smooth the edges on the lid.

Check out some pictures in the photo gallery under the baby room album.
