Travel Dates Set!

We have our travel dates!!! Airfare to China has been purchased. YAY!!! We are leaving bright and early on Thursday, November 18th, and returning Friday, December 3rd. We will be spending Thanksgiving in China. Danni will be celebrating with us. What a great way to spend Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Birthday Nick

Happy Birthday Nick!!!

Nick celebrated his 6th birthday today. We had a low key day because we celebrated his birthday last weekend. His brithday party was at the TaeKwonDo school. The kids were the last airbenders for the day: broke boards (earth bending), sword fighting (air bending), and feet in ice water (water bending). Fire bending was done by Ms. Raines with a fire form to Exodus. Nick had a blast.

She has a name!!!

We finally decided on a name for our little girl. You would think about waiting over 4 years we would have a name, but it wasn’t that simple. Her name is

Danielle MeiYing Williamson.

We would like to thank Debi’s co-worker, Jisheng, for helping translate our referral documents while China was on a holiday. We didn’t have to wait for their translation. We would also like to thank Auntie Wing for helping us with her Chinese name. We also can’t forget to thank Debi’s parents. Debi’s mom will be traveling with us and has endured all the shots and time off work to make the travel.

For the last 3 1/2 years, Nick has been calling her Baby Danni. He still has not budged from that name. He continues to insist that she looks just like him. They share something in common. They both have a birthmark, Mongolian Spot. Nick’s is on his lower back and her’s is on her ankle. They are about the same size too, based on the description in her paperwork and by the pictures of it. We will post pictures soon.

On October 12th, she turned 10 months old. We are still hoping to travel at the end of next month. We hope to have her home before she turns 1 year old or at least in our arms.

Too Cute Not to Post

Today, Nick showed the daycare pictures of his baby sister. When they asked what he thought of his baby sister, he replied “She looks like me. See look at her cheeks…they are just like mine…chubby!” He was also pinching his cheeks while saying this. Too cute!!!

Field Trip Time

Nick had his first field trip at HCA. Chuck went with him and took pictures. He had a blast and even fell asleep on the way back to the school.

Approved by NBC

Debi received a call today from NBC (National Benefit Center – immigration approval) and we have been approved. Now we wait for the official form to come into the mail. Hopefully it will get here soon.

Telling Nick

Today, we told Nick we had pictures of his baby sister. At first it was a little nerve racking as the first 2 pictures we showed him, he tossed them back and said “That isn’t my sister.” We showed him the mug shot (1 1/2 x 2 picture) and he immediately took it way from Debi and yelled “That’s my sister! That’s my sister!” After getting him to calm down and getting the picture back from him, we explained that all the pictures were of his sister. He is going to be a great big brother. He wants to show everyone his baby sister.

THE CALL

Debi received the call at 6:00pm today. We were referred a baby girl (福玖庆). She is currently 9 months old from the Jiangxi Province (江西省). We are hoping to travel and have her before she turns 1 year old. The agency should be sending us pictures tonight. We can’t wait to see her face. We were told she has a birth mark on her ankle.
