Rumor has it that we are in this batch of referrals. Hopefully, we will know in the next few days who our child is and can anticipate our travel dates. It could be Christmas in China.

Renew Passport
We had to renew Nick’s passport for our trip to China. He was super excited about it. He would tell everyone he needed to take his 6 year old picture so he could go to China to bring his baby sister home. So cute!
First call from school
YIKES! Debi knows what you are thinking because she thought it was going to be bad news. Nick was hanging on the monkey bars (no big surprise there) and let go (another no big surprise). He fell and hit his head and it was bleeding. He had to be taken to the nurses office. Once the school nurse cleaned up the blood and put a cold pack on it, he was ready to go back to class.
First day on Bus
Today was Nick’s first day on a school bus. The daycare picked him up from the school. He did great.
First Day of Big School Kindergarten
After a rough start on Tuesday getting a classroom without his friends and a teacher he didn’t know, Nick did great. He went into the school with his backpack on and lunch in hand. He went straight to his classroom and put his stuff up. Debi put all his supplies up after assuring Nick that his name and initials were on his colors, markers, paint, and scissors. Debi forgot his blanket and pillow so she had to make a second trip to the school. Debi will be picking him up today and tomorrow. On Monday, Nick will start riding the bus to the daycare for after-school care.
Classroom assignment
Today, we picked up Nick’s class assignment. He isn’t in the class with all his friends which he wasn’t happy about. The teacher who tested him for Kindergarten isn’t his teacher either. He didn’t want to talk to the teacher but wanted to play with the toys in the classroom. Hopefully, it will get better by the time school starts in 2 days.
New Belts
Nick tested for his next belt and passed. He is now a Red belt. Debi also tested and received her Brown belt.
Parent’s Night Out Airbender style
The taekwondo school had a parent’s night out and the theme was Airbender. The person who played Aang (last airbender) goes to the taekwondo school in Carrollton. A few times we did a leadership training there and he was at one of them that we remember. Nick had a blast.
Renewing I-171H for the last time
We are hoping we are renewing our I-171H approval for the last time. The wait is currently just over 4 years.
Gee Family get away
The Gee Family had a weekend get-a-way at Lake Sommerville. Nick had a blast “swimming” with a life jacket on in the middle of the lake. He enjoyed playing with all his cousins and sleeping with all the kids on the floor.
