Welcome to 2009! We stayed up until just after midnight watching the Disney Channel, because Nick wanted to stay up as well. We toasted the New Year with Sparkling Grape Juice which Nick really wanted to do until he tasted it. He decided he wanted something else (water or milk) to toast with.

Nick wanted 3 things from Santa. He asked for a Bicycle like Spencer and Jacob, skateboard, and guitar. On Tuesday, we went to Papoo and Nony’s house (Chuck’s grandparents). Nony was helping Debi with her quilt. Nony is an expert in making quilts although she will never claim that title. She made a very pretty quilt for Nick when he was born. We spent Christmas Eve with Chuck’s family. The kids (Callie, Riley, and Nick) ate together at the kid table with Grammy. On Christmas morning, Nick was so excited to see his bicycle Santa had left, but he asked where his skateboard and guitar were. LOL After spending some time with Chuck’s family, we drove to Debi’s family for a surprise visit. We arrived a day early.
Mr. Walker tested Nick today for his next belt. He missed belt testing with the whole group because we already had other plans, so he tested by himself. We forgot our camera so no pictures of the testing. At the end of class, he earned his Camoflauge belt with a Tiger Patch. You would have thought it was a black belt as excited as Nick was to get a new belt.
Nick went to a 5 hour day camp at his Taekwondo school. He got to belt test at the end class. They said all the kids did very well throughout the day. It was a rough start but it got better. Ms Mask said she had to pull out her mom voice to get the kids attention. He is now a camo belt. It is camoflauge but Nick likes to call it camo. Debi went shopping for a little while. She didn’t do the early morning shopping because it was just Nick and her. She still got some good deals and got almost all the shopping done. YAY!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We spent Thanksgiving with the Gee Family. The guys (Chuck, PawPaw, Uncle Jr, & Uncle Dean) went hunting after Thanksgiving lunch. Debi and Nick drove back to Rockwall. MeeMaw, Aunt Kim, Uncle Daryl, Tori, & Spencer went to the Gee House.
Nick went to Debi’s coworker and friend’s son’s brithday party. Casey was turning 4! Nick had a blast at the party. They had a bounce house with a slide in the back yard. Nick didn’t want to go home but he needed a nap before church.
Nick had his pictures taken at Taekwondo. He did great! He got to take them with real weapons. What were they thinking???
We have a divided house of this year’s pumpkin theme. So we ended up with 2. One t-sip and one Gig’ em Aggies. Nick didn’t really care for going house to house for candy. Debi took him to the houses we know and then came home to pass them out. Nick had more fun passing out candy than getting some for himself. Wierdo, huh? Great for Debi and Chuck!
Nick had his party at a local jump place. He had fun. His party was Batman themed. Now that we have celebrated his birthday for 2 weeks. We wonder if he will realize this is the end of the partying?!
Nick went for his 4 year checkup. Debi didn’t realize there were shots involved when she made the appointment. He got 4 shots! He was so upset about getting shots he had to be held down by 2 nurses and Debi. He got to have a daycare party with cupcakes.
Nick took his Taekwondo test tonight. He is now a yellow belt with a tiger patch! YAY Nick! Before testing began and after they were lined up, Ms Raines (head instructor) asked Nick were he went. She was thinking he was going to say Disney so she could mention the shirt he brought her back. But Nick fooled her, he said McDonald’s where we ate dinner. Too funny! She finally got him to say Disney so she could mention the shirt and the tournament. Everyone got a big kick out of him. They all think he is so cute! They can’t believe he is only 4 and listens so well. Obviously, they don’t know Nick that well.
